HEV (IgM)

Hepatitis E virus is an enterically transmitted viral hepatitis with a high case fatality rate among pregnant women. The infection is usually self-limiting and resolves within 2–6 weeks. Occasionally a serious disease known as fulminant hepatitis (acute liver failure) develops, which can be fatal.
